The National Parks System turned 100 years old in 2016! Celebrate the start of our second century by visiting one of Virginia's National parks in 2017. These parks reveal the natural beauty of the Commonwealth and her expansive history.  They offer a quiet retreat for residents and visitors looking for preserved examples of Virginia’s awe-inspiring landscape and history. #FindYourPark

The park service is offering fee-free days in 2017.

  • January 16: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • February 20: Presidents' Day
  • April 15-16 and 22-23: Weekends of National Park Week
  • August 25: National Park Service Birthday
  • September 30: National Public Lands Day
  • November 11-12: Veterans Day Weekend
