Producing its first wines in 1980, Ingleside is one of the oldest and largest wineries in Virginia. Located on the highest ridge of Virginia's historic Northern Neck peninsula, Ingleside grows over 50 acres of vines and produces nearly 20 different wines. Many of its limited-production wines are only available in the Tasting Room. Proud to be a pioneer in the Virginia wine industry, Ingleside was the first Virginia winery to make sparkling wine using traditional Methode Champenoise and has later found success with unique grapes such as Albarino and Sangiovese.
Ingleside's local history is also noteworthy. Just down the road from the winery are: the site of the first recorded act of resistance to British rule, the birthplaces of two US presidents (George Washington and James Monroe), and Stratford Hall, home of the Lees of Virginia.
Ingleside is open year-round for tours and tastings. Stop by the museum, browse the extensive gift shop and enjoy a picnic around the fountain in the European-style courtyard. Ingleside also hosts numerous wine events throughout the year. Join the Estate Club for access to Library wines, member-only events, wine & event discounts and more.
