Since 1981, the Arlington Gay & Lesbian Alliance - AGLA (nonprofit organization) established itself as home base and center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender life, culture and equality – centering on nonpartisan political awareness, civic engagement, community service and regional events for locals and visitors.
Over the last three decades, AGLA has collaborated with local governments, the Imperial Court of Washington, D.C., Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia, Gay Men’s Health Collaborative, Gay Men’s Health Collaborative, Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), Northern Virginia Pride and many other civic and community organizations. AGLA also creates programs focusing on women-specific resources and alliances with universities creating liaisons and scholarships.
Today, AGLA continues to grow and to serve as center for community resources, equality and events unifying LGBTQ’s and Allies in Northern Virginia, open to all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning or queer (LGBTQ) people and allies.
AGLA hosts many community and regional events serving travelers and Virginia locals.
Visit the AGLA website, Facebook and Twitter resources for year-round events and activities.
