A resident peacock, our own chickens, and a veggie and herb garden out back - when we say our food is locally sourced we mean it. Breweries, wineries, a new distillery and cideries abound nearby - and we are just 1/2 mile away from either tubing on the James River, or some of the best antiquing in the county.
If you are traveling from a major city - the charm of High Meadows will far outweigh the 20 minute drive if you are headed into Charlottesville to dine, though our own town of Scottsville - just 1/2 mile away - has several restaurants including the newest farm-to-table place The Smokehouse Grille. Locally sourced, vegan and vegetarian options - all from-scratch desserts by the bakers at High Meadows, too! You get a full-on farm experience, just a wee bit out of the city of Charlottesville - and the road you'll be on is gorgeous anyway - taking you through Albemarle County Rural Historic District, past the winery owned by Dave Matthews.
