The mission of the Williamsburg Botanical Garden is to enhance the life of residents and visitors by promoting beautiful gardens for the enjoyment of plants and the environment through year-round educational and recreational programs. The Ellipse Garden (2 acres) was dedicated in 2006 and contains more than 2,000 trees, shrubs, and other plantings in a butterfly garden, herb garden, native plant garden, perennial border, pinewoods and fernery, wetlands, and wildflower meadow.
Throughout the February-November period we have monthly Learn-and-Grow speakers on the third Saturday. Admission is also free. See our website for the topic of each.
In August we host a Butterfly Festival featuring 8-9 types of butterflies in tents through which visitors can walk and enjoy them.
We are open 7:00 am - sunset EVERY day of the year. Admission is free!
