Celebrate the long and healthy lives of our wild turkeys during the Virginia Living Museum’s 11th annual Turkey Pardoning. A city official will pardon the turkeys during a brief ceremony at a brief indoor ceremony. After the ceremony guests will parade to the outdoor Turkey/Deer Habitat where the Museum’s four turkeys, one male and three hens, will then be called with a turkey caller and fed cracked corn while being officially “pardoned”. The official pardoning will usher in the holiday season at the museum with activities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., including a display of turkey items from museum collections, turkey-related crafts and activities. The museum's turkeys are part of its display of non-releasable animals that help connect people to the natural world. The museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
