Montgomery County, just off the intersection of I-81 and Highway 460 was established in 1777 and was named after the American Revolutionary War general Richard Montgomery. Virginia’s story continues in this popular location for mountain bikers, hikers, and cyclists exploring the nearby Washington & Jefferson National Forests, the Transamerica Trail, and the Huckleberry Trail. The New River offers a number of different activities including kayaking, fishing, tubing, and stand up paddle boarding. As beautiful vistas easily transition to bustling towns filled with local proprietors and national brands you instinctively know it is time to go to town!
